Shenzhen Brain Science Infrastructure (BSI) was funded by the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission in 2020. Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences leads it. It is a key project in the starting area of the Guangming Science City. The BSI covers over 50,000 square meters of construction, including three major technological modules: brain editing, analysis, and simulation. It is equipped to prepare cross-species animal models and analyze neural structures and functions across multiple scales.

The nation's first industrial common technology service platform in the field of brain science and brain-inspired intelligence—the Shenzhen Brain Science and Technology Industrial Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the ""Brain Innovation Center"")—is located on floors 4 to 8 of Building A at the Mingzhu Campus of Shenzhen University of Science and Technology, encompassing a total of five floors and 10,000 square meters of construction area. As a professional incubation platform constructed with the strong support of the Shenzhen and Guangming District governments, the Brain Innovation Center receives technical support and operational management from the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Institute of Brain Science Innovation.
