II. Introduction of the Faculty:
The Faculty of Life and Health Sciences upholds the vision of "Exploring the endless mysteries of life through rigorous science." It focuses on the strategic development needs for human health, integrating international innovative resources to develop cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields related to life and health. The college explores the essence of life and intelligence and is committed to becoming an important source of innovative ideas, a key engine for technological innovation, a hub for talent gathering and training, and a center for the transformation of scientific research results, promoting the development of new medical sciences and serving human health.
According to discipline positioning and professional characteristics, the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences has set up four departments: Department of Biology, Department of Neuroscience, Department of Mental Health and Public Health, and Interdisciplinary Center for Bio-Intelligence (Bio-Intelli X). The six cutting-edge fields are: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Neurobiology and Mental Health, Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine, Microbiology and Systems Biology, Biointelligence Interdisciplinary Studies, and Oncology and Immunotherapy. The Faculty of Life and Health Sciences collaborates deeply with the Brain Research Institute of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology to establish a world-class teaching and research platform, which includes approximately 10,000 square meters of space and major scientific and technological infrastructure valued at 880 million for brain analysis and simulation. It is home to China's first Brain Science Industry Innovation Center, which currently has an incubation fund of about 1 billion and has successfully attracted several start-up companies valued at over 10 billion.
III. Application Requirements:
Candidates should be about to obtain a doctoral degree or have obtained a doctoral degree within the last three years, and generally should not be older than 35 years.
Candidates should have a high level of academic achievement and strong research capabilities, with the ability to conduct independent research.
Candidates who have published relevant papers in international academic journals will be given priority.
Strong English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills are required.
Good academic ethics and a spirit of teamwork are essential.
Candidates should be willing to engage full-time in postdoctoral research work.
IV. Benefits and Subsidy:
The postdoctoral contract is for two years, offering an annual salary of 300,000 to 450,000 RMB (including a living subsidy of 180,000 RMB from Shenzhen). Benefits will be implemented according to the standards for equivalent faculty and staff at the university, including social insurance, housing fund, performance rewards, etc.
Research groups provide an excellent working environment and ample research support and fully support postdoctoral researchers in applying for the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, National Natural Science Foundation, and various provincial and municipal research projects. Research groups will assist postdoctoral researchers in applying for relevant talent programs in Shenzhen based on their qualifications. Outstanding postdoctoral researchers may apply directly for research assistant professor or other faculty positions after their postdoctoral tenure.
Candidates can apply for talent housing in Shenzhen through the university. They can settle in Shenzhen, and their spouse and minor children can also apply for household registration.
